BORGO LE VIGNESpring in Tignale is an invitation to slow down. The days grow longer, the light softer, and everything around seems to awaken with an almost reassuring calm. Even Lake Garda changes its rhythm: less crowded, quieter, more authentic.
It is the perfect time to step outside, walk, and let the paths guide you.
There are days when simply taking a trail into the woods is enough to feel the difference right away: the scent of the earth, the gentle rustle of leaves, the fresh air accompanying every step. And then, suddenly, you arrive at the waterfalls of Tignale.
The water flows down through the rocks, creating a small, hidden corner—almost intimate. Here, you can pause, take off your shoes, and let the cool water run over your feet… and, if you wish, enjoy a refreshing swim. These are the simple moments that stay with you. And what makes it even more special is that you can share it with your dog, who finds just as much space, freedom, and fresh water here as we do.
Another walk that never fails to surprise is the one that leads down towards the lake, in the direction of the harbour. It’s not a path to be underestimated, but taken at a gentle pace and with a bit of care, it becomes part of the experience. It’s one of those walks where the landscape slowly changes: you begin in the woods and soon find yourself immersed in almost Mediterranean scenery, among ancient olive trees, intense scents, and breathtaking views over Lake Garda.
Arriving at the Limonaia Pra de la Fam always feels special. It’s like stepping into another time. The lemon houses tell a story of hard work, patience, and ingenuity. Walking among these terraces, with the lake right beside you, creates a feeling that is hard to put into words: it is beauty, but also the living memory of this land.
These are just two of the many wonderful experiences you can enjoy in Tignale: simple hikes, yet deeply rejuvenating—the kind that truly help you switch off.
To make the most of all this, there are a few things I recommend packing, because it’s best not to set off unprepared. Hiking shoes are essential on dirt paths and on the stones you may encounter along these routes. Comfortable clothing helps reduce fatigue and offers protection—be sure not to forget a windproof jacket, as the weather by the lake can change quickly. Always carry a backpack with enough water for yourself and, if you have them, for your dogs as well. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are equally important. These walks are exposed to the sun of Lake Garda, which makes everything more beautiful but can cause problems if you’re not properly prepared.
And one small tip: when you arrive, ask for a trail map.
Spring here is not just a season. It’s a different way of experiencing time.
